Hello! Well, this is a first, I'm actually posting as me, Liz, Lucie's Mummy. It's Sunday evening and I've finally gotten round to writing about the fabulous MAD blog awards on Friday night. Where... drum roll... we won! A genuine surprise as not only are the MAD blogs super prestigious my fellow finalists are all absolutely brilliant!
Wearing an amazing Vivienne Westwood dress and some super cute cat ears (from Claires Accessories... I KNOW they are totally Maison Margiela no?) I was ready to go and meet the fabulous Fashion Detective aka Jo. We had pre-award cocktails to steady our nerves then headed over to The Radisson Blu Edwardian Hotel.
The cat ears!
We managed to devour a great three course dinner and drank our body weight in wine and then came the awards. I was up for two and after not winning Best New Blog (the unstoppable Mammasaurus deservedly scooped that one) I remembered I hated losing.
Steeling myself for further defeat the Fashion category arrived.... when the stunning Evelyn from TKMaxx read out 'Baby wears Prada' I nearly passed out. I think my speech was awful (but there was no way I wasn't doing one obviously) and at one point I was lost for words (I know... it will NEVER happen again). So here it is......
The award (where to put it?? Suggestions welcome!)
I am utterly delighted to win and have some serious thank yous to work through. First up, thank you to you for reading the blog, commenting and for voting for me, it means so so much and I was blooming made up to win. Thank you to my fellow nominees for being so unbelievably brilliant and inspiring. A special shout out goes to Jo and Helen who are not just fellow bloggers but my new buddies for life - you don't do yacht parties, personal shopping and wine-stealing without making some firm friendships.

A MASSIVE thank you to Sally, who I adore, and the rest of the team at the MAD Blog awards. Thank you to TKMaxx for my lovely prize, I have already spent it about ten times over in my head. Thanks to ParentDish for sponsoring the whole awards and for putting together the A-mazing goodie bags. Most of all though thank you to my darling Lucie who gave me the inspiration and confidence to do something I'd never done before. The poor wee lamb isn't very well tonight (thinking she might have sympathy pains for my hangover??) so I can't even post a pic of her holding 'her' award but trust me it will come!
Lots of Love, Liz x
Oh, and I met Myleene Klass, who is utterly lovely and even gave me some of her nails.
